Dragoş Pîslaru is a Member of the European Parliament, a member of the Renew Europe Group and the Chair for the EU Commission on Employment & Social Affairs. The EAF foundation is very proud to announce that he will be presenting the Keynote Speech: on the new Asbestos at Work Directive, of course.
Dragos has quite some heavy, international qualifications under his belt: a doctorate degree in economics from the Romanian Academy of Sciences and a Master of Sciences in International Relations from the London School of Economics & Political Science amongst them, as well as courses on public policy evaluation and European integration.
Starting as an associate researcher at the Romanian Centre for Economic Policies in Bucharest in 2000, he became an executive director of the Applied Economics Group (GEA) in 2004; then a university lecturer at the Romanian Academy of Economic Studies, before becoming GEA’s General Manager in 2006 and eventually a partner of Civitta Strategy and Consulting SA, focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship between 2017 and 2019. In 2016 and 2017, he was the Romanian Minister for Labour, the Family, Social Welfare and the Elderly.
At present, he is a Member of the European Parliament.
