Associate Professor Steven Kao is a Medical Oncology Senior Staff Specialist at the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and a Honorary Visiting Medical Officer at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, Australia. He is also the clinical research lead at the Asbestos and Dust Diseases Research Institute. He specialises in the management of thoracic cancers including mesothelioma and he is passionate about research efforts to better the lives of patients and family inflicted by this terrible disease. He is involved extensively in clinical trials of thoracic cancers, both investigator-led and pharmaceutical company sponsored. He has over 150 peer reviewed publications and 3 million dollars of grant funding in research over the last 10 years.
